Respiratory & Immune Support with Jin Shin Jyutsu
Jin Shin Jyutsu offers simple, effective techniques to support the respiratory system and strengthen immune function. These gentle hand placements can help clear congestion, ease sinus pressure, improve breathing, and support the body’s natural ability to fight illness.
Use these techniques daily during times of stress, seasonal change, or when experiencing symptoms. Gentle touch and slow breathing are key.

1. Upper Arm Support (Hi19)
Purpose: Supports immune function and helps the body respond to illness.
Steps: Place your hands on the upper arms (Hi19 points).
Hold gently and comfortably.
Breathe slowly and deeply.
Continue for several minutes to support immune strength.

2. Elbow Hold (19s)
Purpose: Helps relieve sinus congestion and hayfever symptoms.
Steps: Place your hands on each elbow (Points 19).
Hold lightly without pressure.
Breathe slowly and evenly.
Continue for several minutes to help clear sinus congestion.

3. Head & Sinus Clearing Sequence
(12 + Opposite 20 → 21 → 22 → 15)
Purpose: Clears the head, sinuses, and reduces pressure.
Steps: Place one hand midway down the side of the neck (Point 12).
Place the other hand on the opposite forehead (Point 20).
Then move to the cheekbone (Point 21).
Then to the collarbone (Point 22).
Finish by placing a hand on the groin/lower abdomen (Point 15).
Hold each position for 1–3 minutes, breathing slowly.

4. Fever & Congestion Relief (11 + 22)

Steps: Place one hand at the base of the neck (Point 11).
Place the other hand on the collarbone (Point 22).
Relax your shoulders and breathe slowly.
Hold for several minutes to support the body’s response. Use whatever hand on the points, to make sure you are comfortable holding this position

5. Lung Flow (22 + 14 – Same Side)
Purpose: Supports lung function and helps with all respiratory issues.
Steps: Place one hand on the collarbone (Point 22).
Place the other hand on the base of the ribs on the same side (Point 14).
Breathe deeply into the lungs.
Hold for several minutes to support breathing and oxygen flow.

6. Small Intestine Flow (11 + Opposite 13 → 1)

9. Respiratory & Immune Boost Sequence
(11 + Thumb over Ring Fingernail → 12 → 4 with Nail)
Purpose: Clears respiratory pathways and strengthens immune function.
Steps: Place one hand at the base of the neck (Point 11).
With the other hand, place your thumb gently over your ring fingernail.
Then move to Point 12 (side of the neck).
Then place fingers at the base of the skull (Point 4), maintaining the fingernail hold.
Breathe slowly and hold each position for 1–3 minutes.
Tip:
These techniques can be used at the first sign of symptoms or as daily support during colder months. Consistent, gentle practice helps the body respond more effectively and maintain balance.
